This photograph was taken from the Space Shuttle Endeavour on December 4, 1993. The silver object at the end of the shuttle arm is the Hubble Space Telescope, which had just been captured to fix the infamous flaw in its optics. The shuttle crew repaired the telescope in flight and redeployed it six days later.
